Real estate appraisal is the process of developing an opion of value for real property. Real estate transactions often require appraisals because they occur infrequently and every property is different, unlike securities, which are traded daily and are identical. Location also plays a key role in valuation. However, since property cannot change location, it is often the upgrades and improvements to the property that can alter value.
